Hetch Hetchy

Hetch Hetchy you say. Well perhaps you don't say, but it's a funny name nonetheless.

The reason for going there was the large queue at the entrance station to Yosemite.
Guess with several large cities pretty close by, the park gets pretty busy on the weekends.

I've gotten pretty sick of driving to be honest. We're about 20 miles from the entrance, and then it's like another 15 miles to the village - which makes it a Bloody Long Round Trip. Anyway.

We walked across the dam, through a tunnel, down a path, and to some waterfalls. It was pretty nice - and a piece of cake compared to our little jaunt up and down Yosemite Falls. Sadly though, being the middle of the day, the light was very harsh.

First some pictures from Kat. Looking away from the dam.

Don't remember her taking this one, but it's of the lower part of the falls I think, looking back towards the dam wall. Rather a nice shot.

Sadly this is better than my effort, a nice wasp on some flowers.

Who's this 10 year old bloke pretending to be a photographer?!
At least the tripod looks VERY cool.

View back to dam.

Waterfall.

Another one. Boring.

Ribs.

Hang on a minute!! That has nothing to do with Hetch Hetchy. But it IS what we had for dinner last night. I recommend you go here and study the making of ribs.

We served the ribs with a kind of grits. In reality it was left over blue cheese polenta, but it was still hella good. Tonight, left-over JAMBALAYA and RIBS. It's like heaven.

That's almost as good as watching you play Guitar Hero in your dressing robes.

The name sounds like Helter Skelter...but looks a little cleaner.

Nice pics, as always
